Hosting the Council for the Development of Social Sciences Research in Africa and the Arab Council for Social Sciences

On Thursday July 4 2019, the International Center for Human Sciences, Byblos, hosted the Council for the Development of Social Sciences Research in Africa and the Arab Council for Social Sciences, represented by colleagues from Kenya, Morocco, Jordan and Lebanon. The program included a guided tour in the historical Byblos Citadel, and a visit to Byblos Old Souk. It was then followed by a dinner in one of Byblos Port restaurants where future collaboration between CISH, CODESRIA and ACSS was discussed

165 second-year Lebanese Army students-officers at CISH Center

Over the course of 3 days, on June 25, 26 and 27, the International Center for Human Sciences welcomed 165 second-year Lebanese Army students-officers at CISH Center, Byblos, offering them both knowledge-based and recreational activities.

CISH launched its activities and program during a ceremony

Under the patronage and presence of H.E Minister of Culture Dr. Mohamed Daoud, the International Center for Human Sciences under the auspices of UNESCO and in collaboration with the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) launched its activities and program during a ceremony held on Thursday June 20, 2019.

CISH & LAU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

The International Center for Human Sciences, Byblos, represented by its Director Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid, and the Lebanese American University (LAU) represented by its President Dr. Joseph Jabbra, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Academic, scientific and cultural cooperation, to promote joint cultural and educational collaboration.

Hosting a group of students in international studies from Virginia

On Monday June 10, with the purpose of encouraging youth to write and publish, the CISH hosted a group of students specializing in international studies coming from the College of Humanities and Sciences in Virginia Commonwealth University in the USA who started a research work around global citizenship, humanism, tolerance and ethical response to catastrophism. Their work will be published in the CISH publications.

Hosting a group of students in international studies from Virginia

On Wednesday May 22, we were glad to host students from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in the USA coming from different educational backgrounds. The delegation was composed of nine students and their professor Dr. Mayda Topoishian and Ms. Micheline Saade from the Lebanese American University (LAU). They were guests in our historic building during the month of June and they worked on research projects for two days to study and contribute to the mission and vision of CISH.
