Round Table: Ethics and Challenges of the Political Community

Dialogue remains the guarantee of Humanity
On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, the International Center of Human Sciences (CISH) – Byblos organized in partnership with the Christian Leadership Formation (CLeF) a round table event on December 10, 2022 entitled “Ethics and Challenges of the Political Community” to discuss readings in the compendium of the church’s social doctrine in which readings’ extracts were discussed with the participation of His Eminence Bishop Youssef Soueif, Archbishop of the Maronite Diocese of Tripoli, His Eminence Mufti Malik Al-Shaar, and the General Superior of the Maronite Sisters Mother Marie Antoinette Saadeh.
The round-table began with a speech by the Director of the Center, Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid, in which she emphasized the importance of principles based on love and tolerance, and with a speech by the CLEF coordinator, Sister Noura El Khoury Hanna, in which she emphasized on the principles of the church compendium. Lectures and debates were followed by prominent thinkers and academicians, to conclude with recommendations by His Eminence, Mufti Malik Al-Shaar, and His Eminence, Bishop Youssef Soueif.
