In the framework of the “Arab Program for Democracy and Human Rights”, a program affiliated to the Institute of Political science at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, and in collaboration with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the International Centre for Human Sciences (CISH-Byblos) organized a debate session on Wednesday 11th of September 2019.

This event held the title of “Youth inclusion: An important step towards sustainable development and human rights” and gathered program participants: officials coming from different Arab countries and university students from the Lebanese American University (LAU). The objective of the discussion was to debate the role of youth and their inclusion in different Arab countries, to expose students to each countries’ point of view, work and challenges, in addition to include youth by offering them the platform to voice their different concerns and findings on the topic.

In her introductory speech, Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid, director of CISH stressed on how engaging youth and alleviating poverty through education, in addition to reducing unemployment rates come as crucial topics to be discussed and found solutions for.
