CISH director Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid has opened the event and stressed on the importance of promoting multilingual education in children and young people, reminding that UNESCO recognized February 21 in a resolution as International Mother Language Day and that it is our duty to preserve our mother tongue and transmit it to our children. She concluded by repeating with the UN “when languages fade, so does the world’s rich tapestry of cultural diversity (…) Traditions, memory”.
