The International Center for Human Sciences in Byblos Monday opened its doors for its annual fall program, where numerous Lebanese and Arab universities will be participating in a series of workshops and courses. Some 35 master’s and doctoral students from nine Lebanese universities along with 15 research professors from Lebanon, Tunisia, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan will be tackling issues such as justice, power and democracy. “We have developed a list of activities in the center to fulfill the wishes of UNESCO and its motto to change knowledge into a citizen’s behavior,” said CISH director Adonis Akra. The project, under the auspices of UNESCO, aims to gather and train students from different backgrounds to discuss issues important to Lebanon and the wider Arab world.
