Women In Leadership: Leading Sustainability
Responding to the Sustainable Development Goal 5 “Gender Equality” and to UNESCO’s agenda, the International Center for Human Sciences (CISH) – UNESCO, Byblos organized, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, a two-days round tables and training sessions on March 12-13, 2022 in partnership with Hanns Seidel Stiftung (HSS) – Amman Office: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon.
The round tables and training sessions entitled “Women in Leadership: Leading Equality and Sustainability” were held at CISH premises in Byblos with the participation of leading women from Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar and the United States.
Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid, Director of CISH, opened the round tables on March 12 and emphasized on the significant role women are playing in shaping a better society and in leading sustainability. Dr. Saliba addressed an inspiring message congratulating the achievements of Arab Women besides all the challenges in all fields of sciences, education and the rule of law.
A welcoming speech from HSS was delivered by Ms. Ulla Al-Shraideh highlighting the importance of this event and the role of HSS in empowering women in the region.
Speakers and moderators inspired the attendees to become active women striving for a better future, serving the community and the global sustainable development.
Training sessions were also held aiming to empower women through emotional intelligence and power of attitude. The two-days were concluded with recommendations and certificate distributions to participants.

بهدف تعزيز الهدف الخامس من أهداف التنمية المستدامة: “المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة” واستجابةً لجدول أعمال اليونسكو، نظّم المركز الدولي لعلوم الإنسان (CISH) – اليونسكو، بيبلوس بالشراكة مع مؤسسة هانس سايدل حلقات حوار ودورات تدريبية بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمرأة بعنوان “المرأة والريادة: لتحقيق المساواة وتنمية أكثراستدامة” وذلك يومي السبت والأحد 1٢ و1٣ آذار2022 في مقرّ المركز القائم عند مدخل السوق القديم بمشاركة فعاليات من لبنان والأردن وقطر والولايات المتحدة.
أطلقت مديرة المركز د. دارينا صليبا أبي شديد، مديرة المركز الدولي لعلوم الانسان، أعمال المؤتمر بكلمة ترحيبية شددت من خلالها على الدور المهمّ الذي تلعبه المرأة في تشكيل مجتمع أفضل، في القيادة المستدامة. كما هنّأت د.صليبا المرأة العربية على إنجازاتها، رغم التحديات في كافة المجالات، العلمية، التعليمية وسيادة القانون. ثم كانت كلمة ترحيبية للسيدة عُلا الشريده سلّطت فيها الضوء على أهمية هذا الحدث ودور مؤسسة هانس سايدل في تمكين المرأة في المنطقة.
وتتالت الجلسات التي ألهم من خلالها المحاضرين الحضور من خلال النقاشات كما عُقدت دورات تدريبية تهدف إلى تمكين المرأة من خلال الذكاء العاطفي وقوة الموقف.اختُتم اليومان بالتوصيات وتوزيع الشهادات على المشاركين.
وايضاً، نُعرب عن عمق امتناننا للسيّد أمير حسون لمشاركته الملهمة وللمساهمة السخية من قرية خان الصابون لبنان للمتحدثين والحضور. شكر صادق من المركز الدولي لعلوم الإنسان – اليونسكو، بيبلوس.
