2018 – Till Now

Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid is the current director of the International Center for Human Sciences (CISH), UNESCO in Byblos (Jbeil, Lebanon). In the last twelve years, she has been teaching several courses in Political Science, International Relations, International Law, Human Rights and Ethics at different universities, such as Université Paris Sud XI in France, Université Catholique de Lyon in France, the Lebanese American University (LAU, Lebanon), the Notre Dame University (NDU, Lebanon), the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK, Lebanon), the Lebanese University, and the Military Academy in Lebanon. She is also a consultant in Human Rights and Arbitration at Arab League affiliated Cairo Regional Center for training and arbitration. In 2009, she completed her Ph.D. in Public Law with a specialization in International and European Law from the University of Paris Sud XI, Jean Monnet Faculty in France. She has got two Masters (MA): One in International Affairs from the LAU, Lebanon (2003), and another MA in Droit des Activités Internationales et Européennes from the Université Paris Sud XI in France (2005). Dr. Abi Chedid has given and prepared multiple trainings, workshops and other academic activities such as a Training of trainers with the United Nations World Youth Alliance Program in 2015, the International Criminal Court Training at The Hague in 2016, among many others. From 2013 to 2016, she was part of the Tuning Middle East and North Africa (T-MEDA) TEMPUS Project to reflect on the harmonization of higher education programs with 33 partners and received 6 certificates from the Tuning Academy with the title of “Implementer”. In 2016, she was a guest speaker at the 5th international conference on the Lebanese presence in the world to talk about: “Comment concevoir un droit à la paix en l’absence d’un respect du droit de la guerre?”. Dr. Saliba Abi Chedid is also the writer and co-writer of multiple books and publications such as: “Armenian Christian Minority in Greater Syria and the Arab Spring”, ch. 3, in “Middle Eastern Minorities and the Arab Spring: Identity and Community in the Twenty-First Century”, Gorgias Press, UK, 2017; Tuning Moyen-Orient et Afrique du Nord : Les Points de Reference pour la Conception et la Prestation des Programmes d’Etudes Universitaires en Droit, University of Deusto, Bilbao, 2016; L’Union européenne et les partenaires méditerranéens : La conditionnalité dans la politique européenne de voisinage avec les partenaires méditerranéens entre exclusion et intégration, Editions Universitaires Européennes, 2013 and has drafted the Guide for International Judicial Cooperation دلیل التعاون القضائي الّدولي for the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, the EUROAID Security and Stability Project (SSP), European Union Ed., 2015, in addition to several articles and online contributions in the fields of human and social sciences.
